I have a magneto from an early-day bi-plane that my dad owned and flew. He had a pilot for his airplane before Braniff airlines was ever started. His airplane was a world-war ! surplus. It had a water-cooled motor with a radiator. It was an open dual cockpit bi-plane called a "Swallow" and was black & silver color.
I will try to find out what make of bi-plane and what year it was built.
The magneto is the engine part the pilot would crank to furnish a spark that would start the airplane motor. It is a heavy-duty magneto with the brand name, Bosch. It still will put out a real good, stong spark when the crank is turned some.
The bi-plane was around a 1927 model or somewhat. I don't know exactly. My dad had his own metal hanger near his home town and also used one at Woodward, Oklahoma.
The price I have on this really old bi-plane motor magneto is $1237.00. The shipping, handling and insurance would be $34.95.
